In 1922, Hermann Ackermann and Hermann Schmitt started a company in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt to produce and sell their new invention: the MS 6 hand-held grinding machine, featuring an electrical motor that drove a flexible shaft. This feature was the inspiration for this brand-new tool’s name: FLEX. And this is the origin of today’s brand name. KERN-DEUDIAM sells FLEX products in the middle east, such as the popular angle grinders, cordless polishers, screwdrivers, rotary hammer drills and wall and ceiling sanders such as the Giraffe®.

Grinding and polishing tools
When it comes to grinding, FLEX is a German brand with almost 100 years of tradition. In 1954 they invented the angle grinder. The diamond tools from KERN-DEUDIAM can also be used on FLEX tools optimally. For example, when working with our grinding plates, our cup grinders or drill bits for tiles.
